Jewitt Guitars Ambassador!
I am proud to announce that I am now an ambassador for Jewitt Guitars! Which means I have an update to my Guitar Tour video…
Jeff built this guitar back in 2022 for The North American Guitar, and it was one of the first redwood/walnut guitars I got to play. I immediately fell in love with this tonewood combination, especially on Jeff’s 00-13 design. (It was even nicknamed the “Lindsay” guitar by Jeff and a few other folks!) He shapes the lower bout on his 00s to get a fuller bass response more like that of an OM, while retaining the comfort of the 00 size. And with a 13-fret neck join combined with full scale, the neck is moved in a little closer to the player while the bridge lands in the sweet spot on the lower bout. The tone is woody and a little bit dark, with an intimacy and immediacy that is very satisfying for accompanying vocals. I feel like it has a warmth similar to an all mahogany guitar, the clarity of spruce/rosewood, and overall a character all its own.

Last but not least, let’s hear it in action! Here’s the original demo from TNAG, plus my latest video, “Red Is the Rose,” showcasing this guitar’s suitability for vocal accompaniment.
