Songs for the Earth Benefit Concert
I am very honored to be singing next month in the debut of my friend Christine Delphine Hedden's gorgeous new piece, "Solstice" in the Songs for the Earth benefit concert for Mass Audubon! We’ll also be performing a selection of songs and pieces reflecting the environmental and avian themes, including one of my favorite Scottish songs, “Up and Away with the Laverock”.
The concert will take place on Sunday, June 1 at the South Shore Conservatory in Hingham, MA. In addition to the music, there will be a book reading, presentation, craft display, and a market of music, books and chocolate. The event starts at 2:30, while the concert is at 4pm.
Christine says:
"For the last few years, I've been working on a project through the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music's Composing Earth initiative. The program invites alumni to intensively study our suite of ecological crises together and to write a newly composed piece of music drawing upon this knowledge. My piece will be premiered by an incredible collaboration of friends at, "Songs for the Earth," a concert hosted by South Shore Conservatory in Hingham on June 1st."
